Our Story

Why Love Tallow Exists

Love Tallow began at home - born from love, necessity, and a quiet frustration with skincare I could no longer fully trust.

When our oldest son was in hospital after receiving a kidney transplant from his dad, I became deeply intentional about everything we put on our skin - especially during recovery and for our children. In that moment, skincare stopped being something we used without thought, and ingredient quality became deeply important.

Everything I found in mainstream skincare felt overly complex, highly processed, and filled with water and ingredients I wasn’t comfortable using.

That search led me back to something simple and ancestral: grass-fed tallow.

Naturally rich, bio-compatible, and deeply nourishing, it is a moisturiser the skin instinctively understands - without fillers, fragrances, or unnecessary complexity.

Love Tallow is made slowly, thoughtfully, and with care, using traditional methods I trust for my own family first.

What is tallow, and why is it used in skincare?

Tallow is a deeply nourishing, vitamin-rich fat derived from grass-fed, ethically raised cows. It closely mimics our skin’s natural oils, making it incredibly compatible. Especially for sensitive, dry, or maturing skin. We use it because it's both ancestral and effective, offering skin-loving nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K in their most bioavailable form.

Tallow is gently purified and whipped into a luxurious balm that is rich but never greasy, that melts effortlessly into the skin.

Love Tallow balms are blended with carefully selected skin enhancing botanicals to create gentle aromas to uplift and relax your senses.

The natural tallow base is gently purified to remove any strong scent, so you may notice a subtle blend of all natural plant-based notes.

Is your skincare safe for sensitive or mature skin?

Yes. Our skincare formulas are intentionally simple and free from common irritants.

We use only high-quality, natural pro-aging ingredients that work in harmony with your skin, not against it.

Many of our customers are mums with sensitive, hormonal, or aging skin, and they tell us their skin has never felt more balanced and hydrated.

Is your tallow ethically and sustainably sourced?

Absolutely. We source from local British farms in Kent that raise animals on regenerative pastures and honour every part of the animal. Our sourcing is transparent, traceable. Better for the earth, the animals, and your skin.

Can I use your products while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, all our products are free from synthetic fragrances, preservatives, and harsh chemicals. Making them gentle enough for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

For newborns and nursing mothers we have created Extra Gentle which is our most gentle baby safe balm. It is essential oil free, and inflused with calendula and chamomile for their skin healing properties.

As always, if you have specific concerns, we recommend checking with your healthcare provider.

What makes your products different from other natural brands?

We blend ancestral wisdom with modern minimalism. While many “natural” brands rely on long ingredient lists and lab-made extracts, we keep it close to the source. Whole, unprocessed ingredients that your skin recognizes.

Tallow is more readily absorbed by the skin than most plant-based oils, which often sit on the surface and don’t penetrate as deeply.

It’s skincare with integrity: eco-luxe, intentional, and results-driven.
